What captures your child's imagination? Does she like to explore the moon, stars, and celestial beings? Or does he like to visit with jungle animals or follow a good sporting event? Whatever your child's interests, our Library offers unlimited potential for exploration, creativity and humor. Finding that "good read" isn't just about occupying time. It's about discovering a new possibility, a different way to look at the world, or a journey to a place otherwise unreachable. And it's about developing reading and grammar skills that translate into academic success.
The ACCELERATED READER PROGRAM (AR) offers reading enrichment and tests comprehension skills as students advance to higher reading levels. The Program rewards each student based upon his or her reading accomplishments, so that every student has the opportunity to succeed and be recognized for that hard-earned success.
Our library offers a multitude of AR books that each student may check out and read. Once the book has been read, the student logs onto a computer and answers five or ten questions designed to test the student's reading comprehension. After passing the reading comprehension test, the student is awarded points. After accumulating a certain number of points, the student receives recognition. John B. Dey will have a school point goal - which we know our voracious readers will exceed.
